worrying

Time goes very fast, I am leaving for Kingston. I will begin my majoy on Jan. 10th. But I am worried about my English level because I still cannot communicate with native people very very fluently, and I still have some words or phrases that I don't understand in each time I speak with other Canadians. And my listening is still cannot be good enough to handle every conversation so far.

Living In North Bay

Life in North Bay is really different from China. I used to speak Chinese with everyone, but now I have to speak English to communicate with other people, even though my English is not very good. Dealing with everything by myself, make me feel tired, but I need to get used to it. I didn’t need to do the housework when I was in China, but now I’ve got to learn how to cook, and I have to do the dishes. As well, I have to worry about buying food. In China I can hang out with my friends when I feel down or unhappy, but now I have to face every frustration by myself. Things are so different from China that I almost need to learn everything .

Me

       People are different in this world. There are some people who are lazy and some people who work hard. There are some people who like sports and some people who hate sports. What kind of person am I? There are many aspects I can talk about myself.

       I am a motivated person. I am doing everything in order to be the best. When I learn English, I correct my pronunciation until I am satisfied. Because I want to be the best Chinese English speaker, I practice more to be sure I can be the best one in the class. I am a person who studies hard. I review knowledge that teachers teach us after class. I spend break time learning something I don’t know. After all, I am an ambitious guy.

       I am a person who knows gratitude. I appreciate Chinese government because it gives me a good life and gives me chance to be better. I appreciate my parents since they brought me to this world, raising me so hard and offered me chance to study abroad so that I can widen my mind. I appreciate my friends for accompanying me whenever there were good times or bad times in my life. I know gratitude, so I appreciate those who have ever helped me.

       I like traveling because I can experience different life and learn more things. I have been to Canton, and it is crowded and noisy; however, there are many delicious food. I like eating delicious food, so that is a good place for me to go because I can eat almost every kind of food in Canton. I have also been to Hong Kong before. It can be described as busy and beautiful. In Hong Kong, people seem very hectic because they do their work all day long and do everything quickly. And it is a good place for to live because I like busy life. I want to have a lot of work to do because I can get a lot of knowledge from working. And it is a very beautiful place where you can see wonderful buildings everywhere. I have learned many things by traveling, and I will travel more places in the future because it is a good way to improve myself.

       A person has many habits and characters. It is hard to describe myself in such a short essay. So I just choose some aspects to talk about myself.

Leaving

  Time goes fast, I have almost finished this semester in Canadore, and I am leaving for st.lawrence college at the end of this year. Next semester, I will study Business Administration Marketing directly, I don't need to take ESL at St.lawrence. I have made many friends this term, and I am so happy that I we have had some many wonderful moments. I appreciate my teachers because they have helped me so much. I always get a kick out of having fun in classes. I will miss you guys while I am in other place.

Canadian Roommates

  Can you imagine two sports conditioning guys running around your house making ridiculous noises? Or, teaching two Canadians how to speak Chinese? I can because I have been living with two Canadian students, one is called Cody another is called David, for about 3 months. And they are really funny guys.

      I still revember the second day after they moved in they taught me “wasabi”. That day, when they saw me in the morning, they said “wasabi”. And I was confused. I said “what are talking about? Are you asking me for wasabi? Are you eating Japanese food?” Then they explained that wasabi means what’up, and it comes from noisy orange, a video on the Internet. After that, when we meet each other we always wasabi.

      Revember one day when I was talking with Cody, and I pronounced ‘pain’ uncorrect. Then Cody wanted to correct my wrong pronounciation. He said ‘pain’, and I said ‘pen’. “no” he said “it is pain, not pen”. “ pan” I said. “It is pain, not pan. Fucking Chinese speaking English” he said angrily. And then I had practiced several times before I got it. Then, later on that day, he told me to teach him how to say no in Chinese. Then I said “bushi”. “bosh” he repeated. “ It is bushi, not bosh” I said. “yes bosh”, he said. “hey, bushi and bosh are totally different.” “ bosh, right?” he said. “bushi, fucking Canadian speaking Chinese.” Then we were both laughing.

      Two weeks ago, while I was doing homework, David came into my bedroom with a pale face. And he looks bad. I thougt he was sick, but he said he was hungry, and he hadn’t eaten anything for two days. I asked him why he hadn’t eaten. He said, “ I want to know how long can put up with starving, but now I have not strength to cook anything, so can you give some breads.”

      They are so out of the ordinary. They are restless everyday. They are really funny. They are my canadian roommates David and Cody.

Working at Kings Buffet

  As soon as I got to North Bay, I found a job as a bus boy at Kings buffet. So, I have been working there for about 4 months, and I have learned so much knowledge about working at a restaurant. But it is really a hard work, you need to be very carefully in case of knock down other people or fall plates down. Sometimes I felt tired and hungry, but I still need to hang on until the time is up, so I can have my dinner at the restaurant. Now I have almost got used to this kind of life, and I have become a perservence person. After all, I am happy that I can work at Kings buffet.

My Dream

       To be a great businessman like Bill Gates is always my dream. I want to become a person who is ambicious, confient, powerful, rich, smart and famous. And I like communicating with other people, learning a lot of knowledge, improving myself. I can get these when I become a great businessman.

Snow

I have been living in North Bay for about four months and the winter is coming, which means I am going to experience snow soon. So, I think I will have a lot of fun living in North Bay. When I was child, I admired those people who could see snow in their hometown. Because I lived in southern China, I can’t see snow in winter. Now I have got a chance to see real snow! I am looking forward to stacking a snowman, putting a carrot on the sonwman’s face as a nose and using two berries as eyes. I am going to make a beautiful snowman in this winter. And I am going to walk in the street while it is snowing, which will make me feel like I am in charge of the world. Even though it is very cold on a snowy day, I will go outside to experience the snow that I have never seen in my hometown. Also, I am going to go snowboarding, which is Chloe’s favourite sport, even though I have never experienced that. And I am going to take lots of pictures of the snow. Oh my god, I can’t wait to experience the snow now! I will have a happy winter in North Bay.

My English

I have been in North Bay for more than three months, and my English is improving fast. I practice my English everyday. I speak with my classmates, teachers, housemates, strangers. I write down many words and idoms on my notebook, so I can review them at any break time. Compared with three months ago, my english is better now. But I still have a long way to go. There are so many vocabulary and idoms that I need to learn. And I want to come to a high English level that can communicate with English speakers very well at the end of this semester. So I need to study very very hard so that I can have chance to get it. That's all, I am gonna buckle down and study hard now.

  My hometown is 厦门（XiaMen）city, a beautiful little island.The image of sea scenery above was taken from my hometown. XM,short for XiaMen, is a nice city ,it is one of the most liveable city in the world.There are less pollutions in XM.The weather there is very good,it is neither too hot nor too cold.So,it is very comfortable to live in XM.If one day you can travel to China,I suggest you to visit XM.If you do so ,you can contact me ,and I can tell you where to get some local delicious food.
